Children’s Book Illustration: Develop your own illustration style and learn the art of lively, expressive narrative drawing. Experiment with print-friendly art media and explore creative page design.  (Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm in my studio, 8 weeks beginning April 15.)  $120

Workshop: Draw and Paint the Summer Garden: An all-day workshop in botanical art, featuring heirloom flowers and vegetables. No previous art experience is necessary. Using traditional methods of scientific illustration, unleash your powers of observation and learn to draw realistic botanicals in pencil. With clear, step-by-step guidance in color mixing and layered washes, use gouache and colored pencil together to create a richly detailed rendering of your subject. All art supplies included. (Saturday, April 17 from 9am to 4pm at the Museum of Mobile.)  Pre-registration required.    $75

Artisan Cheesemaking Workshop: Mozzarella This is an opportunity for all the folks who were unable to attend Mark Perez’s wonderful afternoon mozzarella workshops in March. Learn to transform a gallon of milk into a pound of fresh mozzarella. Mark will guide you through the process to make a beautiful, delicious, gourmet-quality cheese. Bring a gallon of milk and take home the cheese you make. All supplies included. There will also be a demo of yogurt cheese and Greek style yogurt. Mmmmm!  (Sunday, May 2 from 1-4pm at Mark & Val’s house.)    $25
